2008 - A Time of Need
This year, as with each of the past 26 years of our existence, the Damiano Center saw thousands of people pass through our doors, seeking emergency help with basic needs from our six programs. 2008 was a very busy year as families struggled to make ends meet with the rising costs of food, transportation and home heating.
The Damiano Center is open every day to serve people in need. Consider making an online donation to help us in our work.
2008 - a year in review:
Our Soup Kitchen served over 91,000 meals and utilized over 171,000 pounds of salvaged food.
Kids Cafe® served 4,935 meals to 470 children - an almost 30% increase over last year!
Clothes That Work helped 975 new and 970 returning customers find work and interview appropriate clothing, and distributed over 12,000 articles of clothing.
Clothing Exchange distribute over 422,000 articles of clothing and household goods.
Damiano Social Services helped over 1,600 individuals and families find solutions to their crisis.
The Housing Access Program helped over 500 people keep their housing or find new housing through our evicition prevention and homelessness services.
