We field a lot of questions about how to donate clothing and other items to the Damiano Center, when we’re open, what we accept, etc., so consider this your guide to donating clothing and other items to Damiano!
The Damiano Center is a nonprofit with limited resources for staffing, and the donation room is not open every day, so make sure you come during the hours that we are open for donations:
Clothing Donation Hours Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri 9 am - 3 pm
Sat 10 am - 2 pm CLOSED Thu and Sun
Donation Instructions 1. Go to the Damiano Center at 206 West 4th St, which is across the street from the CAIR clinic and Sacred Heart Music Center.
2. Go to the west side of the building, where the parking lot is located. There are fewer stairs to the second floor donation room on that side, you can park in the parking lot, and there is an elevator should you need one. We also have shopping carts available for large donations.
4. Ask for a receipt if you want one (your donation is tax deductible), but know that we are not able to place a value on the goods that you have donated or provide you with an itemized list of your donations.

If you come during lunchtime, you will have more difficulty parking (lunch is Mon, Weds, Fri, Sat from 11:30 to 1:00).
The quietest day to donate is Tuesday because the Community Kitchen is not open that day.
We do not accept items that are dirty, broken, or otherwise unusable. We also do not accept furniture, large appliances, or electronics.
We accept household goods as well as clothing, but call ahead if you’re not sure if it’s something we would want.
