Housing Access
The Housing Access program works to prevent new occurrences of homelessness, to rapidly re-house people who are homeless and to improve the condition of rental housing units. We provide the following services:
Education - training to tenants and property owners/managers on rights and responsibilities under federal, state and city laws.
Housing Connection - Intensively work with clients who are at-risk of homelessness or are currently homeless to maintain or find new housing.
Advocacy - Provide assistance with conciliation court, rent escrow actions and tenant remedies action. Offer mediation between tenants and landlords or tenants and tenants to resolve disputes and prevent eviction. Offer assistance with interpretation of leases, housing program eligibility and other issues. Assist clients with and be present at informal Housing and Redevelopment Authority hearings.
Information & Referral - Provide tenants and landlords with information on housing laws and issues and other resources to assist people in maintaining their housing.
Open: Monday - Friday 8:30 am to 4:30 pm
